LOCATION | Ranchi District. The network is located near Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand.
The total area covered by the Ranchi Network is 175 sq km. Ranchi District is located on the southern part of the Chota Nagpur plateau which forms the eastern edge of the Deccan plateau.
BACKGROUND/SHORT HISTORY | The Ranchi network is built in close cooperation with KGVK Rural Enterprises, a Jharkhand-based social enterprise with in-depth knowledge of the area through its parent organization - KGVK - a four decade old organization working on integrated rural development and promoted by the Usha Martin Group.
In this network, AirJaldi seeks to enhance KGVK’s work on developing viable rural livelihoods across Jharkhand. Doing so effectively entails close cooperation between us and KGVK-RE as we seek to develop affordable broadband package offerings as well as a wide range of value-added services and ways of using the network to support livelihood and well being activities through a Village Level Entrepreneur network.
As is the case in all of our networks, our services are being extended to educational institutions, businesses and individuals. Jharkhand, although quite a way away from our other networks, attracts much of our attention as the programs implemented there in cooperation with KGVK-RE will in all likelihood prove central to our future expansion and activities in the Eastern States.
